Kira Pommes has recently joined the Research Development Team as a Research Administrator.
Kira has held several positions at Stanford University with approximately 7 years of experience in research administration. Kira’s first role in research administration was as a faculty administrator in the Department of Biology in the School of Humanities & Sciences. She supported 2 faculty members and was the project manager for their proposal submissions, in addition to assisting with the day-to-day management of their labs.
Kira excelled in her pre-award assignments and moved on to become a Grant Coordinator for the Institute for Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine in the School of Medicine. There she supported 7 faculty with the preparation and submission of proposals and progress reports. Her responsibilities included submitting PIFs, developing checklists, establishing timelines, collecting, reviewing, editing, and uploading proposal documents and coordinating submission with the Research Management Group (RMG) on behalf of the Institute faculty.
Kira then joined RMG as a Research Process Manager (RPM). As RPM, she obtained Certification level 1 and was authorized to submit proposals to sponsors and accept awards on behalf of the University. After taking one-year off to be a full-time stay-at-home parent, she returned to the workforce as a Research Administrator in the department of Biology, providing pre- and post-award support for 11 faculty and their labs.
